Safety Tips

When dealing with air compressors, Safety is always paramount! Because PCC cares about you, we have provided a few safety precautions. We have broken safety down into Equipment safety and Personal Safety categorie

We highly recommend taking a look at a few of the basic steps required to keep your air compressor running, but more importantly, keeping you safe! Always read the operational manual for safety relating to your particular compressor.

Equipment Safety:

  1. Check pump oil level daily
  2. Don't overfill engine crankcase when adding oil:
    • Overfilling oil may cause smoke
    • May make starting difficult
    • Can cause saturation of oil filter
    • May cause spark plug fouling
  3. Drain tank every 4 hours of continuous use or daily
  4. Moisture left in tank will cause rust and weaken the tank

Personal Safety:

  1. Always allow the engine to cool prior to adding additional fuel
  2. Wear Safety Glasses
  3. Wear hearing protection
  4. Never point air stream at other people!
